ABOUT
The Why Art Podcast premiered in June 2020 as a Hamilton Arts Week signature event with eight episodes airing over eight days to overwhelming audience support and enthusiasm.
Season one guests included dancer and choreographer Mayumi Lashbrook, educator Rebekka Gondosch, ceramic artist Emma Smith, storyteller Karen Ancheta, hip-hop dancer Josh Taylor, painter Jody Joseph, poet John Terpstra, and conductor Gemma New.
Season two premieres on February 15th and along with interviews with Canadian arrtists, alternating 'How Art' episodes will feature disucssions on important artist life topics, like finances and wellness.

Rose is a theatre-maker and producer. Her work has been featured at Frost Bites, Supercrawl, In The Soil, Women's Work, and others. She is currently in residence with St. Catharine's Suitcase-in-Point, working on an immersive, at-home piece, Celebrations, coming June 2021.

Laura is an actor and producer. She is the artistic director of Light Echo Theatre and the safe space coordinator for Industry. Recent projects include The Vagina Monologues (Light Echo Theatre), The Team (Theatre Aquarius), and The Holiday Radio Plays (Rooks Theatre).
